No matter how you cut it…

Warning: Content is pure potty humor in first paragraph…

In Mark’s family their were tigers, in the BSU and youth group there are African Barking Spiders, in my family however, Mom, never one to mince words just let us call em Farts. In Ukrainian culture they are cut but unspoken of generally. Well, last night, Max is sitting on Mark’s lap and ripped a hole in his shorts with a big one. Much laughter started up and Anna was mortified. Max knew he had scored and tried to teach us the word for Fart in Russian. We were failing at this pronunciation so we taught him how to say “fart.” It was not the word itself, which as all the kids in the youth group know, is enough to send me howling. It is how he said it. See the “R” in Russian is rolled. If you can’t roll your “r’s” then you will not appreciate the humor as much in the way that the word “fart” sounds when a 12 year old is red faced with laughter saying the new word that has his parents in tears laughing so hard and nearly wetting their pants. “FarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrT” I mean it goes on forever. Once again, confirmation, he is our son.

Mom called last night to tell us that La Hacienda was closed. We pause now for a moment of silence and grief………………………………….. Some one please update us on how this travesty occurred. We have a heads up from Mom that it had to do with some under the table employment… is this true? Say it aint so! Mark heard the news and went to wailing. “Noooooooo” You might have heard him all the way back there in Milton. In honor of La Ha tonight I will make a variation of tacos with the packet of taco seasoning I brought from home. I found some nacho chip things and something that is supposed to be salsa… hummmmm. We shall see.

The snow fell pretty good here last night. Mark and Max are going to make the trek up to the hotel to post and Anna and I are going to do laundry again. Tomorrow is Mark’s bday and we will all go for a walk to the hotel to post and blog and then get lunch at the local “pizza house.”

Court is on Monday at 11. Please pray on Sunday all that things go well and that we are given a favorable decision to adopt the kids. Mark will leave after court on Monday and head for Kiev to see John and Kevin whom we FINALLY connected with even shortly last night. Lori is going to go and try to see them later today. John was really happy to hear our voices it has just been too long. We miss them terrible and I can’t wait to see our other two boys again. I will have to wait for that reunion a while as I will stay behind after court for the 10 day wait here. Once that is over we have another 3 days to get docs done here and I can then officially take Anna and Max to Kiev. Mark will get us an apartment at that time so that we can all live in one space in Kiev. We hope and ask that you pray for us that maybe we can even get our Kiev court date while we are in the 10 day wait here. While it would be a little bit of a challenge to leave these two behind for a day and two nights until I can get back it would REALLY help us in the process of getting done in country and getting HOME. If we do not get court till after this 10 day wait we still have another one to go through up there and it just drags on. We are missing all of you and are anxious to start our family THERE after the good jumping off we have had here.

Big love to every one and some one please tell us how tour went!?
WE ARE PRAYING FOR SWEET HEARTS BANQUET!!!! We can’t wait to hear how it goes!!! We love you guys. We miss our youth and our friends!

Love,
Jenn
